Naxalbari, 11th February: The Naxalbari Mandal BJP staged a protest march and demonstration on Wednesday following incidents of shop vandalism and intimidation, demanding the arrest of an expelled Trinamool Youth Congress (TMYC) leader.
Led by BJP MLA Anandamay Barman, party workers marched from the party office to the local police station and later staged a sit-in outside the police station to express their anger.
Speaking at the protest, MLA Anandamay Barman alleged that the police have become partisan and are granting impunity to the offenders under ministerial directives.
He demanded the immediate arrest of the accused youth leader and his associates and called for strict punishment.
