BJP protests over alleged death threats and attack at Siliguri Organisational District President’s residence

Siliguri, 08th February: The Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest march in Siliguri on Sunday alleging a late-night attack and repeated death threats at the residence of its Siliguri Organisational District President Arun Mandal.

According to the BJP, the attack on Mondal’s house was carried out in a planned manner under the cover of darkness, while he has also been receiving continuous death threats over the phone. The party alleged that the incident took place under the patronage of the ruling Trinamool Congress and termed it a direct attack on democratic values.

The protest march began from Air View More and moved through various parts of the city, with party workers raising slogans against what they described as political intimidation and violence.

BJP Minority Morcha Siliguri Organisational District President Jitendra Sarin said the party would not remain silent against politics of threats and terror. He demanded the immediate arrest of those involved and urged the administration to take swift and strict action in the matter.
