Naxalbari, 21st July: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a protest program, gheraoing the Naxalbari Block Development Office (BDO) office, based on allegations of ballot paper looting during the panchayat elections. Party leaders and workers participated in the demonstration, staging a prolonged demonstration in front of the BDO office to highlight their concerns. Later, the party issued a memorandum to the BDO.
Manoranjan Mondal, the BJP district vice president, vehemently criticized the Trinamool government, characterizing its tenure as a “death march.” He pointed out the dishonest practices, ranging from stamping ballot papers unethically to incidents of ballot paper looting, as major issues during the elections. He also expressed deep discontent with the role played by BDO officials, accusing them of being involved in vote looting.
