Kharibari, 29th September: BJP panchayat member Ratna Singh has been accused of misusing her influence to construct a drainage system next to her residence. The allegations involve a project for an 80-meter drainage line in Sukaru Jote, under the Buraganj gram panchayat in Kharibari block.
Local residents claimed that while 60 meters of the drainage line was constructed straight, the remaining 20 meters is being diverted next to the BJP member’s property. They alleged that an unnecessary guard wall has also been built in the area.
In response, BJP panchayat member Ratna Singh dismissed the claims as false. She stated that the drainage work was carried out according to plan, and that the diversion was necessary due to a lack of space to complete the project in the originally designated area.
On the other hand, Anita Roy, the TMC Pradhan of the Buraganj Gram Panchayat, emphasized that all work should follow the official plan. She noted that she has not received any complaints about the drainage project, but assured that an investigation will be conducted and appropriate actions taken.
