Siliguri, 17th August: BJP MPs and MLAs reached Bagdogra police station demanding the complete release of 42 members of Narayani Sena who were earlier arrested in Bagdogra.
It is noteworthy that today a large number of Narayani Sena members were reaching Bagdogra airport to welcome Union Minister of State for Home Nishith Pramanik. Then 42 Narayani Sena was arrested by the Bagdogra police. After which BJP demonstrated at the police station demanding the immediate release of Narayani Sena. Due to which an atmosphere of excitement was seen in front of Bagdogra police station for some time. It is being told that during this time the gate of the entrance of the police station was also broken. Several women RAF personnel have also suffered injuries.
Soon after the arrest, Jalpaiguri MP Jayant Kumar Roy, Balurghat MP Sukanta Majumdar, Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, Matigara – Naxalbari MLA Anandamoy Barman and Kharibari MLA Durga Murmu reached Bagdogra police station. They demanded release of the arrested Narayani Sena without any condition.
The BJP leaders accused police of acting as the cadres of the Trinamool Congress. “This is not an insult to Narayani armies but an insult to Thakur Panchanan,” they added.
