BJP MP Raju Bista expressed concern over abandoned Mungpoo Sharada Vidyalaya Development Project

Darjeeling, 05th September: Darjeeling’s BJP Member of Parliament, Raju Bista, has raised serious concerns regarding the halt in the ongoing development project of Mungpoo Sharada Vidyalaya, also known as Sarda Higher Secondary School.

The construction of the new building for Sarda Higher Secondary School in Mungpoo, which began in 1988, has faced significant setbacks. Despite six years of construction, the edifice remains incomplete, primarily due to the absence of a roof. This deterioration has been a cause for alarm.

Principal Prakashchandra Rai expressed the institution’s hardships stemming from the discontinuation of the rehabilitation project initiated by the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA). Currently, the school accommodates over three hundred students, and the termination of the project has severely disrupted their educational pursuits.

In response to this situation, BJP MP Raju Bista criticized both the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM), alleging that they are deliberately undermining the educational system in the hill region.
