BJP MLAs visit violence affected site in Hatighisa of Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 24th June: On Saturday, two BJP MLAs, Anandamoy Barman and Durga Murmu, along with Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad member Ajay Oraon, paid a visit to Hatighisa in Naxalbari. The purpose of their visit was to meet the family of Sudhir Nagasia, who tragically lost his life in Hatighisa recently. Accompanied by other BJP leaders and party workers, the MLAs interacted with the bereaved family and provided financial assistance.

Subsequently, the MLAs proceeded to visit the affected area of Muribasti. During their visit, they also engaged in discussions with the Sabhadhipati of Siliguri Mahakma Parishad, who was present at the scene. However, local residents raised concerns about the delayed arrival of the MLAs, questioning why they had taken three days to reach the spot.

MLA Anandamoy Barman expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate incident. He emphasized that while the death of one person was tragic, it was not justified to vandalize and loot numerous houses in response. The MLA also raised questions about the role of the police and called for a thorough investigation into the incidents of violence and looting, urging appropriate punishment for those responsible. Additionally, he assured assistance to the affected families.

Meanwhile, Arun Ghosh, the Sabhadhipati of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, stated that efforts are being made to provide as much support as possible to the affected individuals. He appealed to everyone to come forward and lend a helping hand. Furthermore, he mentioned that the visit of the two MLAs had taken place and they had assured to address the matter.
