Siliguri, 23rd August: During a press conference at the BJP district office on Monday, Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh and Dabgram-Fulbari assembly MLA Shikha Chatterjee said that the Siliguri Organizational District BJP will launch a movement in September alleging various corruption against Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
“Water has accumulated in multiple areas of the city due to monsoon rains. The drainage system is very poor in Siliguri and its development has come to a standstill. We will continue this movement against the governing body of SMC,” MLA Shankar Ghosh added.
Furthermore, MLA Shikha Chatterjee demanded the municipal election be held immediately following the COVID guidelines. “14 wards of SMC have been inundated during the monsoon. There is no drinking water system. SMC is full of corruption,” MLA Chatterjee also alleged.
