Kharibari, 09th September: A programme was organized on behalf of BJP Kharibari Budhaganj Mandal on the death anniversary of Thakur Panchanan Barma. On the occasion, tribute was paid to the idol of Thakur Panchanan Barma, established at Panchanan More in Dohaguri, by garlanding him.
Panchanan Barma was a Rajbanshi leader and social reformer from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. He dedicated his life for the improvement of backward class people, specifically for his own backward Rajbanshi community.
BJP National Council member Ganesh Chand Debnath, Yuva Morcha Mandal President Tarun Kumar Singh, Kisan Morcha President Pradeep Barman, Mandal Vice President Arun Das and Santosh Jaiswal and other workers were present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Ganesh Chand Debnath said that Thakur Panchanan Barma is known to the soul of the Rajbanshi community. He also spoke on the selfless work and dedication of Barma in protecting the Rajbanshis.
