Siliguri, 26th June: BJP state president Dilip Ghosh arrived in North Bengal on a three-day visit to hold discussions regarding party leaders-workers as well as preparations for the municipal elections.
After arriving at NJP station on Saturday morning, he headed towards Cooch Behar. Addressing the media, he spoke on various issues. Rumours of more BJP MLAs joining TMC spread in the political arena after Mukul Roy recently joined the Trinamool Congress. In this regard, Ghosh said “The ones meant to leave have already gone. The burden has diminished. No sensible person will join TMC.”
Meanwhile, the police have arrested a man named Debanjan Deb in connection with a fake vaccination case in Kolkata. In that context, Dilip Ghosh took a jibe at TMC and said that attempts are being made to save their back. “On being caught, investigation commission, SIT are being formed to stop the investigation process,” he added.
On the other hand, some BJP MPs and MLAs have spoken for a separate state for North Bengal. However, Dilip Ghosh said that the party is not in favour of state division.
