Siliguri, 27th April: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a protest rally in Siliguri to voice their concerns over the recent death of a party worker in Kaliyaganj. The rally was led by party leaders and workers from the Siliguri organizational district, which commenced from Hashmi Chowk in Siliguri. The route of the rally covered Hill Cart Road and Sevoke More, before returning to the starting point at Hashmi Chowk.
However, tensions rose when the protesters blocked the road, leading to a scuffle between the police and BJP workers and supporters. The BJP remained resolute and supported the 12-hour bandh in Bengal on Friday, called by Raiganj MP Debashree Chowdhury.
