Siliguri, 05th February: Jaya Kumari Chowdhury of Siliguri, who won the gold medal in the State-level Kickboxing Championship 2020 competition, has been felicitated by the BJP, today.
The State-level Kickboxing Championship 2020 competition was held on January 4-5 in Kolkata. Jaya Kumari Chowdhury, a resident of Gurung Basti, Ward No. 3 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, won the gold medal in the 55 kg category in the competition.
Gold medalist Jaya Kumari Chowdhury was felicitated with a bouquet and scarf by the Siliguri Organizational District President Praveen Agarwal, BJP leader Rathindranath Bose, and Ward No. 3 BJP Committee. Jaya Kumari Chowdhury expressed her gratitude towards the honor given by the BJP.
The State-level Kickboxing gold medalist aims to win a gold medal in the World Championships too, which is to be held in Delhi. Jaya maintained that she wanted to serve the country by joining the Airforce in the future.
During the event, the Siliguri Organizational BJP President Praveen Agarwal and BJP leader Rathindranath Bose stated that all possible help will be provided by the BJP to elevate Jaya’s talent and skills.
