Siliguri, 27th August: The ongoing R.G. Kar case has significantly impacted the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) board meeting, leading to a dramatic walkout by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Councillors.
On Tuesday, BJP Councillor Vivek Singh from Ward No. 04 presented a censure motion concerning the R.G. Kar incident. However, the motion was promptly rejected by the chairman. This rejection sparked a heated debate among the board members.
In response, BJP Councillors began chanting “We Want Justice” and subsequently boycotted the meeting.
