Siliguri, 02nd October: On Monday, the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the significant occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to mark the 154th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation at Kachari Road near Siliguri Post Office. Significantly, BJP general secretary Satish Dhand, Siliguri BJP President Arun Mandal, and other BJP leaders were present during the solemn tribute.
According to reports, a program of ‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’ was also launched in commemoration of the event. The BJP leaders and supporters of the Siliguri organizational district paid homage to the solemn statue of Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding and offering flowers. Apart from this, the area surrounding the statue was also swept and cleaned as a part of the ‘Swachha Bharat Abhiyan’ program.
