BJP candidate’s minor daughter attacked in Kalimpong, MP Raju Bista vows justice for the victims

Kalimpong, 08th July: In a distressing incident, the residence of Emanuel Lepcha, a BJP candidate contesting from Bhalukhop Gram Panchayat in Kalimpong, was targeted today. The attackers, allegedly affiliated with the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) group, vandalized a parked vehicle and assaulted Lepcha’s minor daughter, causing severe injuries and trauma. The ruling party, TMC (Trinamool Congress), faces allegations in connection with the incident.

Expressing concern over the prevailing situation, MP Raju Bista emphasized that despite claims to the contrary, the TMC and its alliance have spread political terrorism in the state. He highlighted how BJP candidates have been targeted, their families attacked, their properties destroyed, and subjected to ongoing harassment.
Bista further criticized the West Bengal State Election Commission, state and district administration, and police, accusing them of functioning as frontline TMC cadres and providing shelter and protection to goons associated with the ruling party. Bista predicted that the TMC government in the state is bound to collapse sooner rather than later. Those officials working as TMC agents will be held accountable for their actions.

Bista assured that all those involved in the heinous act of attacking a child would face the full force of the law. He declared that no one would be spared, including those attempting to shield the assailants.
