Siliguri, 02nd May: BJP candidate Anandamoy Barman won from the Matigara-Naxalbari assembly constituency by defeating Sanjukta Morcha Congress candidate Sankar Malakar and Trinamool candidate Rajen Sundas by a margin of a few thousand votes.
Anandamay Barman said “The people are with me. I have received the blessings of all. I will work for the people in the future. I will do whatever development is needed in this assembly area.”
On the other hand, regarding BJP’s defeat in the state, he said, “There are victories and defeats in politics. We will play the role of the opposition.”
