BJP candidate Anandamay Barman campaigns in tea gardens, dines with workers in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 10th April: BJP candidate from the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency, Anandamay Barman, intensified his election campaign in tea garden areas on Friday in a bid to garner support from tea workers.

As part of his outreach, Barman visited the Belgachhi, Marapur, and Manjha tea gardens in Naxalbari. During the campaign, he was seen interacting with workers and sharing a meal with them. He also participated in activities such as planting tea saplings and working alongside labourers, showcasing his engagement with the local community.

The candidate faced several questions from tea workers regarding their grievances and livelihood concerns during the visit.

Addressing the workers, Barman alleged that the Trinamool Congress government had failed to deliver development over the past 15 years, leading to widespread dissatisfaction. He asserted that if the BJP comes to power, tea garden workers would receive better wages, housing facilities, and land rights.

He further criticised the ruling party, alleging collusion between the Trinamool Congress and tea garden owners over unresolved issues related to provident fund (PF) and gratuity.
