BJP and its alliance parties submitted nomination papers for panchayat polls at Kurseong BDO office

Kurseong, 14th June: On the fifth day of nomination submissions for the Panchayat elections, various political parties and independent candidates actively participated by submitting their nomination papers. As of June 13, a total of 135 individuals had already submitted their nomination papers for panchayat member and panchayat committee positions in Kurseong. Furthermore, on Wednesday, more political parties and independent candidates joined the process. Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its alliance parties played a significant role by submitting their nomination papers for the Panchayat elections.


Reports suggest that the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) submitted different nomination papers for various seats, with mutual support agreements with the coalition party in some places and vice versa. Similarly, other parties such as the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJMM), Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM), Hamro Party, and others also submitted their nomination papers as part of the alliance. Additionally, many members of the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) successfully completed the task of submitting their nomination papers. On Tuesday, BGPM submitted nomination papers for 89 Panchayat members and 15 Panchayat Committee members across 14 Gram Panchayats in the Kurseong region. Today, more submissions from BGPM are expected, and if necessary, they will continue the process tomorrow.

In addition to party candidates, independent candidates also submitted their nomination papers in various Gram Panchayats. It has been reported that individuals who were not granted tickets by the BGPM chose to submit their nomination papers as independent candidates.
