Siliguri, 01st July: The birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, after whom Bidhan Market in Siliguri is named, was observed with respect by the Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samiti.
Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, councillors, and other officials from the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, along with Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, paid tribute to the statue of Dr. Roy.
To commemorate the occasion, an eye examination camp was organized by the Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samiti, where many people received eye check-ups. Additionally, doctors and youths involved in the rescue work during the Rangapani train accident were felicitated.
