Bio-lavatory inaugurated at Siliguri’s Baghajatin Park

Siliguri, 29th June: The Rotary Club of Siliguri has undertaken a significant initiative by establishing an eco-friendly lavatory at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri, with the support of Councilor Mili Sinha from Ward No. 17. Today, the bio-toilet was inaugurated by Goutam Deb, the Mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.


The inauguration program witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including Manik Dey, MMIC for the Solid Waste Management (SWM) Department, Pratul Chakraborty, SMC Chairman, Sanjay Sharma, Councilor of Ward No. 20, and Mili Sinha, Chairman of Borough Committee-III and Councilor of Ward No. 17.


Prior to the inauguration of the bio-lavatory, a tree plantation drive was organized. Mayor Goutam Deb emphasized that the bio-toilet would be environmentally friendly and would be maintained by the SMC. He further highlighted the importance of preserving the environment by mentioning the tree saplings that were planted during the event.
