Siliguri, 15th December: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha President Bimal Gurung today paid a surprise visit to the Siliguri’s Champasari and met party cadres at various places in the area.
During his visit, Gurung met the family members of the late Shiva Prasad Chamlagai (Hanuman Baje), an active party worker, at his residence today at Middle Plus in Champasari. Hanuman Baje played an active role in GJM’s party works since 2008 and was also a member of the party’s central committee.
Shiva Prasad Chamlagai passed away on January 03 earlier this year. Since the GJM President Bimal Gurung was in hiding at the time, he could not attend Chamlagai’s funeral. However, he met Chamlagai’s family members today and expressed his condolences.
On the occasion, Gurung also took part in a religious programme held at the temple in the said area. He was accompanied by Vice President Bishal Chhetri, General Secretary Roshan Giri and other active members of the party.
