Siliguri, 07th November: As soon as Darjeeling MP Raju Bista reached Bagdogra today, he made a big statement concerning the politics of the Darjeeling Hills. He hinted at Bimal Gurung probably returning to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Bista revealed that Bimal Gurung is still in touch with him. He said that he is well aware of the pressure put on Bimal Gurung by the Trinamool Congress who clearly made such a decision under compulsion. Bista said that he has been working in the interest of the Gorkha community ever since he became the MP. He continuously opposed the GTA. ‘Everything is possible in politics’ Bista said.
Speaking on the issue of Gorkhaland, MP Raju Bista said that he has nothing to say on this however, the BJP is fulfilling their promises made in the resolution letter one by one.
Furthermore, commenting on the Nabanna meeting between Anit Thapa and Binay Tamang with the Chief Minister, the MP said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee TMC has always indulged in the politics of divide and rule in the hills.
