Kurseong, 29th November: After almost three years, a ‘Virat Jansabha’ of Bimal Gurung faction Gorkha Janmukti Morcha was held in Kurseong today.
Before the meeting, a rally was taken out from Kurseong Tourist Lodge which toured various parts of the town. Later a huge public meeting was organized in the Motor Stand where hundreds of people turned up to showcase their support to the party.
The rally was also attended by GJM General Secretary Roshan Giri and Youth Wing leader Dipen Malay, who returned to the Darjeeling Hills after nearly three years of hiding. The duo was grandly welcomed by the people with ‘khadas’, garlands and ‘Zindabad’ slogans.
Addressing the media, Giri said that the enthusiasm with which they were welcomed has made it clear that the people are with the Bimal faction GJM. “Anit-Binay has become leaders by force, not by the people,” Giri added.
