Bike stolen from nursing home in Siliguri recovered through CCTV footage

Siliguri, 12th March: In a significant achievement, police have recovered a bike stolen from a nursing home in the Matigara police station area of Siliguri.


As per reports, on February 21, Mohammad Asirul visited a private hospital in Matigara with his son’s bike. He parked it in the hospital parking area before heading inside. However, upon returning, he found the bike missing.

On February 23, he lodged a complaint at Matigara police station. The undercover police team examined CCTV footage and identified the accused as Sonu Valmiki.


Investigations revealed that he was already imprisoned in Siliguri jail. Following legal procedures, police took him into custody for interrogation.

During questioning, Sonu confessed to the theft and disclosed that the bike was hidden in an empty house in the Himul area. Acting on this information, police raided the location on Tuesday night and recovered the stolen bike.

Sources stated that after completing the legal process, the bike will be returned to its owner. The accused was produced in Siliguri court on Wednesday, and further investigations into the case are underway.
