Siliguri, 19th September: Heavy rains in Siliguri left Bidhan Market inundated. In this context, Ashok Bhattacharya, Chairman of Board of Administrators at Siliguri Municipal Corporation visited the market to take stock of the situation. Bhattacharya also visited the NTS More area.
Every year similar sights are spotted in various municipal areas of the city during the rainy season. However, the SMC is quite anxious this year as many more areas are reportedly being submerged under rainwater. Last Thursday too, the Bidhan Market was flooded with almost knee-deep water following heavy rainfall.
