Siliguri, 11th November: Cops of Bhakti Nagar police station under Siliguri Metropolitan Police busted an illegal call centre operating on the third floor of Diamond Plaza building last night. Four people were also taken into custody in connection to the incident. The arrested have been identified as Suman Pravesh (30), Jaspal Singh (27), Nazim Mahmood Khan (23) and Sonam Gyatso Bhutia (38).
As per the report, the bogus call centre allegedly extorted money from people abroad on the pretext of providing loans. Based on the tip-off, a team of Bhakti Nagar police led by IC Amresh Singh raided the said call centre. During the raid, the police team seized several computers, hard disks, CPUs and mobile phones. Furthermore, four people including the manager were arrested after questioning. Police are probing the entire matter.
