Siliguri, 31st July: The Bhaktinagar police, acting on a tip-off, raided a building on Siliguri Iskcon Mandir Road and busted an illegal call centre running under the name ‘PAFPAY’ for a long time. Police recovered 10 computers, mobile phones, SIM cards from the said office.
According to police sources, the ‘PAFPAY’ company is originally from Kolkata but had been closed for the past three years. Meanwhile, about a week ago, the illegal call centre under the same name started operating on the third floor of the said building. Allegedly, the employees used photographs of numerous girls to dupe their clients from other states by luring them in various ways.
Bhakti Nagar police team led by IC raided the illegal call centre on Saturday. Two men and one woman were detained in the incident. They are said to be residents of Siliguri. Investigating police officers are looking for the others involved in the incident.
