Siliguri, 06th May: In a significant breakthrough, the Bhakti Nagar Traffic police successfully recovered a stolen scooter belonging to a Civic Volunteer from Kalimpong. The incident led to the arrest of the accused thief Arpan Darji.
According to reports, the Kalimpong police station received a complaint regarding the theft of a civic volunteer’s scooter. Despite initial investigations yielding no leads, Bhakti Nagar Traffic Point’s ASI Haripada Roy noticed Arpan Darji, riding a scooter during his morning duty. This raised suspicions prompting a thorough check by the traffic police personnel.
Subsequently, Arpan Darji was stopped and questioned for necessary documents and license. Upon being interrogated, Arpan claimed that the scooty belonged to a friend. However, upon verification of the scooter’s number, it was confirmed to be the stolen property.
Following this, Haripada Roy promptly informed Bhakti Nagar police station, leading to the arrest of Arpan Darji. The detained individual and the recovered vehicle were handed over to Kalimpong police station later in the afternoon for further legal proceedings. At present, the incident is being further investigated.
