Siliguri, 20th December: Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard on Saturday carried out a fresh anti-encroachment drive in the Sevoke Road area of Siliguri to ensure smooth traffic movement and pedestrian safety.
During the campaign, police removed goods and materials that shop owners had illegally placed on the road in front of their establishments, causing obstruction. People found parking vehicles illegally were also warned and made aware of traffic rules.
Officials of the Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard stated that traders have been instructed to conduct their business without occupying footpaths. At present, the focus is on creating awareness, but strict action will be taken in the coming days if violations continue.
The traffic guard further informed that such anti-encroachment drives will be conducted regularly to maintain discipline and order on city roads.
