Siliguri, 08th February: The Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard in Siliguri has intensified its drive against unauthorized parking. On Saturday, the traffic guard launched a campaign in the Sevoke Road area, where individuals who had parked their vehicles illegally were made aware of the rules and given warnings.
According to Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard officials, no vehicles were seized, nor were fines imposed during the campaign. For now, the focus is on raising awareness. However, stricter action will be taken in the coming days if people continue to violate parking regulations.
The Siliguri Metropolitan Police has been making various efforts to address the city’s traffic congestion. Dedicated routes for e-rickshaws have been fixed, and designated parking zones have been marked.
Despite these measures, illegal parking on roads persists, causing frequent traffic jams. Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard aims to tackle the problem by increasing awareness and ensuring compliance with parking regulations.
