Siliguri, 26th March: In a major breakthrough, Bhakti Nagar police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police arrested a vicious criminal who is accused of duping more than 100 people. Police arrested the accused from Melli on the West Bengal-Sikkim border last night. The arrested has been identified as Pawan Gadodia (40) of Club Town, Siliguri. He was presented in Jalpaiguri court today.
According to police sources, Pawan Gadodia used to pose as a bricks trader and used to swindle lakhs of rupees by claiming to provide bricks at low prices. In the last few months, he had duped more than 100 people of Siliguri of more than Rs 10 crore.
Reportedly, one of his victims lodged a complaint in the police station last month. Based on the complaint, the police started an investigation and successfully got a clue of the accused. Following this, under the leadership of IC Amresh Singh of Bhakti Nagar police station, Pawan Gadodia was arrested from Melli before he could enter Sikkim. The crook was presented in Jalpaiguri court today and has been taken on remand.
