Siliguri, 28th August: BJP workers have been staging rallies and demonstrations throughout Siliguri in view of the 12-hour bandh since earlier on Wednesday.
The protests have included blocking government buses, shutting down shops, and closing markets. BJP activists obstructed a government bus on Hill Cart Road and staged a sit-in protest in front of it. Subsequently, the police officials arrived and intervened the matter.
Processions were carried out on Hill Cart Road, Sevoke Road, Bidhan Road, and S.F. Road, among other areas.
