Siliguri, 27th January: Four batteries from the high-voltage generator at Kanchanjunga Stadium in Siliguri were stolen by a group of thieves.
Local residents noticed that the iron gate of the generator room, located near Gate No. 13 of the stadium, was broken open on Monday. They immediately alerted an officer working with the municipality.
Following the alert, police from the Siliguri Police Station arrived at the scene. The stolen batteries, valued at approximately ₹80,000, were missing.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
