Batasi PSA Club begins Durgotsav preparations with ‘Khutti Puja’ in Kharibari

Kharibari, 26th June: With months to go before Durgotsav, preparations have already begun in Batasi, Kharibari. The Batasi PSA Club commenced its 59th year of celebrations with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’ on Thursday.


The ritual took place at the club premises, marking the symbolic start of the puja preparations. This year’s theme, ‘Ora Kaj Kora’, will feature a pandal built entirely from natural materials. The puja committee has set a budget of around ₹25 lakh and plans to dazzle visitors with elaborate lighting arrangements.

Club Secretary Anand Mohan Roy expressed optimism that, as in previous years, lakhs of visitors will flock to the celebrations. Siliguri Mahkuma Parishad Karmadhyaksha Kishori Mohan Singh also extended his best wishes, stating that PSA Club’s Durgotsav always brings joy to the region.
