Naxalbari, 26th November: Banking services at Naxalbari Post Office have been closed for several days, causing harassment to customers. Customers expressed their anger at the branch, demanding the immediate resumption of services.
As per reports, the post office is run by four officials, of whom three have been on leave for the past two days. This has caused inconvenience to the branch’s customers.
According to customers, they are being sent back when trying to withdraw their deposits, sometimes due to the excuse of no internet link, and other times due to the absence of staff even when the link is working. Such incidents reportedly occur frequently, escalating customer frustration.
Police from Naxalbari station reached the spot after receiving the news and managed to control the situation with their assurance.
No response could be obtained from the acting official of the Naxalbari post office as they were not present.
