Jalpaiguri, 27th January: Bank employees in Jalpaiguri joined the nationwide strike on Tuesday, demanding the implementation of a five-day work week across the banking sector.
The strike was called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), and bank employees in the city participated in protest rallies in front of various government and private banks from the morning hours.
Protesters raised slogans and held demonstrations highlighting their demand for a structured five-day working system, stating that it is necessary for better work-life balance and improved efficiency in the banking sector.
Union representatives said the agitation in Jalpaiguri was part of the countrywide movement, with bank employees across India responding to the UFBU’s call for the strike in support of the five-day work week demand.
