Siliguri, 13th July: In a startling turn of events, a 21-year-old Bangladeshi girl named Sapla Akhtar was apprehended by the Pradhan Nagar Police in Siliguri on charges of illegally crossing border. Sapla had embarked on a journey across the border to unite with her beloved, unaware of the deceit that awaited her.
According to reports, around two and a half months ago, Sapla crossed the border into India, bypassing the barbed wires and without possessing a passport. Initially, she was elated to be with her lover, hoping to build a life together on foreign soil. Little did she know that her partner, who had seemingly reciprocated her affection, harbored sinister motives. The man had devised a scheme to sell her off in Nepal, using their relationship as a smokescreen.
When Sapla eventually unraveled her lover’s true intentions, she managed to escape from his clutches. On Wednesday night, disoriented and aimlessly wandering around the Siliguri Junction area, she caught the attention of a non-governmental organization (NGO). After conversing with the distressed girl, the NGO promptly handed her over to the Pradhan Nagar Police Station.
Following thorough interrogation, Sapla was arrested by the police for her illegal border crossing. Today, she was produced before the Siliguri Court. Meanwhile, the authorities have launched an intensive search to apprehend the duplicitous lover, relying on Sapla’s statements to track him down and bring him to justice.
