Rajganj, 20th May: The tea garden owners and workers of the Rajganj border are living under the grip of terror after receiving multiple threats from Bangladeshi hooligans. They have desperately raised their voices in the demand for protection.
Reportedly, residents have farmland on both sides of the barbed wire fence along Indo-Bangladesh border. Crops, mostly tea, are cultivated on the either side. Gates are opened at certain times of the day for farmers to work on the land under strict surveillance by the BSF.
Recently, the BSF caught two Bangladeshi miscreants from the Chowhati area of the border and handed them over to the police. Both the said miscreants were presented in Jalpaiguri court.
As per the allegations, since the incident, Bangladeshi miscreants are threatening to abduct and kill the tea garden owners and workers. Furthermore, they are also looting thr tea nurseries and stealing away tea leaves. The miscreants plan to take the residents as hostages in order to free the two arrested Bangladeshi miscreants. Despite the strict surveillance of BSF, tea workers and owners living along the border in Rajganj are seeking for protection.
