Bangiya Hindu Mahamancha submits memo at DI Office in Siliguri demanding extension of summer vacation

Siliguri, 11th June: Amid the ongoing severe heatwave across North Bengal, Bangiya Hindu Mahamancha submitted a memorandum at the Siliguri District Inspector (DI) Office on Tuesday, urging the extension of the summer vacation in schools.

With temperatures soaring and intense heat affecting people of all age groups, the organisation expressed concern for schoolchildren who are forced to attend classes under harsh weather conditions. They argued that reopening schools in such heat could endanger students’ health and well-being.

The memorandum demanded that summer vacation in all schools across North Bengal be extended, highlighting that rising temperatures each year are making it increasingly difficult to adhere to fixed school schedules.

Members of the Mahamancha warned that if no action is taken, the ongoing heatwave could seriously impact the health of young students and called for immediate steps from the administration.
