Banadurga Puja Committee submits memo to forest officer of Dabgram Range for puja at night as per traditions

Siliguri, 22nd December: The customary Banadurga Puja is scheduled for December 26. In this regard, on Friday, the members of the Banadurga Puja Committee submitted a memorandum to the Dabgram Range Officer of the Baikunthapur division, for puja at night as per traditions


According to the details gathered, the Banadurga Puja has been taking place for a long time following customary traditions. The puja was performed at night in the past. However, due to restrictions during the pandemic, it was done during the daytime.

In this regard, the Puja organizers wanted the puja to be organized at night like in previous years. In response, the puja organizers submitted a memorandum to the Dabgram Range Officer of the Baikunthapur division. However, no response was received, which left them worried.


Speaking in this regard, the Puja organizers stated that keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people, the puja should be organized at night. They added that, if the need arises, the fair can be canceled.
