Siliguri, 12th September: The Siliguri Metropolitan Police held a crucial meeting on Thursday with various puja committees at the Dinabandhu Mancha (Tathya Kendra) of Siliguri regarding the several measures to be imposed during the festival days. The measures included a strict restriction on the use of DJ during the Durga Puja days and the immersion ceremonies.

In addition, health official Debabrato Dutta emphasized the importance of holding on to dengue prevention guidelines. He instructed Puja committees to enhance awareness and vigilance against dengue. The puja committees have been further instructed to display banners in the pavilions (pandals) to inform visitors about dengue prevention and conducting announcements via microphones.

Additionally, the measures include prevention of water accumulation in the pandals. After the festival concludes, the pandals must be dismantled and cleared as quickly as possible to prevent mosquito breeding.
