Siliguri, 31st January: Bamboo pavilion structures are being constructed in the Eastern Bypass area of Siliguri ahead of Saraswati Puja. The traders in Siliguri are hoping to profit from the sales.
A few years ago, there was significant demand for these bamboo structures, but this demand has since decreased. In the recent years, the traditional pavilions are decorated with a variety of flowers and other materials. Despite this decline, traders continue to craft the structures, hoping to sell them during festivals to support their families.
This year, traders have created bamboo pavilions in various designs, anticipating better sales. The traders mentioned that although demand for these has decreased in cities, it is still highly demanded in rural areas.
