Siliguri, 15th January: The newly constructed office of the Balason Sub-Traffic Guard was inaugurated on Thursday at Palpara More under the Matigara area of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate. The inauguration was carried out by Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Tanmay Sarkar, DCP Rakesh Singh, DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, ADCP Purnima Sherpa, along with senior officers of the traffic department and other police officials. Police Commissioner C Sudhakar formally inaugurated the new building by cutting the ribbon.
According to officials, the new office will play a key role in regulating traffic movement on the national highway and adjoining areas under the jurisdiction of Matigara Police Station.
As part of the inauguration programme, school bags were distributed among local children, while blankets were provided to needy residents. A blood donation camp was also organised on the occasion, witnessing enthusiastic participation from police personnel and members of the local community.
