Bagdogra, 08th December: A youth from Bagdogra, Subhash Chhetri, died tragically in fire incident sparked by cylinder explosion at a nightclub in Goa, plunging his family into deep grief. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, reportedly claimed the lives of 25 people.
According to family sources, Subhash had been working as a chef at the nightclub for the past two years. He was on duty at the time of the explosion. Subhash was a resident of Banur Chhat area in Bagdogra and was the sole breadwinner of his family.
After the news of the incident reached home, his mother Tonka Maya Chhetri broke down in shock. His sister, Urmila Chhetri, said that initially they were informed that Subhash was critically injured. Later, it was confirmed that he had lost his life in the blast.
Urmila Chhetri also expressed strong anger against the nightclub authorities, alleging that there were no proper fire safety arrangements at the spot. She further claimed that there was negligence on the part of both the club management and the concerned administration.
The bereaved family has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the incident along with strict action against those responsible.
