Siliguri, 27th January: As part of a proactive initiative promoted across the state, the Bagdogra Traffic Guard will observe Road Safety Week from January 27 to January 31. Notably, road safety awareness is being campaigned this week.
The main goal of the program is to increase awareness among vehicle drivers. On Monday, a rally was organized by the Bagdogra Traffic Guard at Bihar More, featuring a tableau and school students. The procession began at Bihar More, passed through Panighata More, and concluded at the Bihar More Traffic Park.
Several officials from the Police Commissionerate, including Bagdogra Traffic Guard’s Officer-in-Charge Swapan Roy, Bagdogra Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Partha Pratim Das, along with other dignitaries, participated in the rally.
Later, the DSP of CISF, SCG Head, delivered a speech. Upper and Lower Bagdogra Pradhan Sanjeev Sinha and Mamata Barman, among others, attended the event.
Siliguri Police Commissionerate’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, Abhishek Majumdar, stated that simply enforcing laws will not prevent accidents. He emphasized the significance of awareness and added that if awareness is instilled at a young age, it will leave a lasting impact.
