Bagdogra, 21st March: In a recent development, the cops of the Bagdogra police station arrested a young man with a firearm from Gossainpur area. The arrested youth has been identified as Sanjit Mandal alias Sonu, a resident of Gossainpur area.
As per reports, Sanjit Mandal had ordered a pistol and a live ammunition from Bihar for sale. On Wednesday night, Sanjit was travelling from Gossainpur to sell the firearms. During this, the patrolling team of Bagdogra police station spotted Sanjit Mandal under suspicious circumstances and initiated a search. During the search, the police recovered a pistol and a live cartridge.
On Thursday, the police registered a case for illegal possession of firearms and produced the accused before the Siliguri court where remand was sought for further investigation. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire matter.
