Awareness rally held in Siliguri to prevent mosquito-borne diseases

Siliguri, 13th February: In order to make Siliguri a dengue-free city, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation has decided to eradicate dengue larvae before birth. In this context, an awareness rally was held, on Thursday, along with the health workers and school students.


Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya, Mayor-in-council of the Health Department Shankar Ghosh and many other Councillors were present during the rally, which commenced from Siliguri’s Baghajatin Park and concluded at the Hakimpara Children Park via Hasmi Chowk More.

Mayor Ashok Bhattacharya stated that mosquito-borne diseases are on a rise in the city for the past few years. Several deaths have also been reported. The Mayor further stated that an action plan has also been prepared by the SMC which will be implemented to prevent dengue.
