Siliguri, 09th October: As per the decision of the investigation committee, political science professor Amitava Kanjilal, accused in the audio clip controversy, will be suspended from October 10.
It is to recall, Amitava Kanjilal was caught demanding money from a student to help her obtain passing grades in the examinations through several telephonic conversations. A show-cause notice was also issued by the Siliguri College authorities in this regard.
Reportedly, the investigation committee submitted its report today. It has been learned that departmental investigation will be started from now on. He is likely to be suspended until the departmental probe gets completed.
Siliguri College Principal Sujit Ghosh stated that the decision has been taken as per government rules.
