Siliguri, 03rd November: During a meeting on Tuesday along with the health officials of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Ashok Bhattacharya, the chairman of the BoA at SMC, appealed all to not burst firecrackers this Diwali amid the ongoing pandemic.
Addressing the media, Bhattacharya said that the number of COVID-19 cases is on the rise in Siliguri. At present, a minimum of 70 cases is reported every day. He accused the state health department of negligence and stated that if no appropriate measures are taken, the city will suffer terribly in the coming days.
He further said that from now on, ‘Do’s and don’ts’ boards will be put up in front of the residences of COVID infected people as an awareness measure.
