Siliguri, 22nd October: Ashok Bhattacharya, convener of the Darjeeling District Left Front, voiced strong opposition regarding Bimal Gurung’s unforeseen public appearance in Kolkata on Wednesday.
During a press conference on Thursday, Bhattacharya demanded Gurung’s “secret talks” with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should be revealed to the public. Besides, he also demanded to raise the issue of their discussions in the Vidhan Sabha.
It is to be noted that Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader Bimal Gurung, who had been on the run since 2017, appeared in Kolkata on Wednesday. While addressing the media Gurung announced that he will be breaking ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and ally with Trinamool Congress for 2021 assembly elections.
